Summary of Agenda — Pocomoke City Mayor & Council Meeting (Dec. 2, 2025)
Council to Weigh Bond Measures, Street Work, and Lodger Ordinance at December 2 Meeting
The Mayor and Council will meet at 6:30 p.m. on December 2, 2025, at City Hall. The meeting opens with the Pledge of Allegiance, prayer, and call to order.
Council will review and approve minutes from the October 15, 2025 work session and November 3, 2025 work session and meeting, and will consider releasing the closed session minutes from September 15, 2025. The agenda includes approval of the bill list.
A proclamation will be presented honoring a Pocomoke Police retiree.
Council is scheduled to vote on several action items, including:
- Contract award for the Pocomoke Family Life Center
- Approval of Funk & Bolton as bond counsel
- Approval to use GMB (George, Miles & Buhr) for street improvement services
- Approval of a Police Department purchase from the City of Fruitland
Legislative items are on the agenda:
- Second Reading & Public Hearing: Resolution 2026-R-07, supporting participation in the Sustainable Maryland Certified Municipal Certification Program
- First Reading: Ordinance 2026-O-3, eliminating the keeping of lodgers, roomers, or boarders by a resident family in residential zoning districts
- First Reading: Ordinance 2026-O-7, authorizing a general obligation bond for a Water Tank Mixers Project
Council will also consider two one-day special event permits:
- Park Retirement – December 13, 2025
- Anderson Birthday Party – December 27, 2025
The meeting concludes with comments from council members, the mayor, the city manager, and the public.
A closed session is planned under GP § 3-305(b)(4) (business/industrial proposals) and GP § 3-305(b)(8) (consultation on potential or pending litigation).
